TIP122 NPN Darlington BJT Transistor For Audio and Switching

TIP122 and TIP127 are silicon epitaxial-base power transistors in monolithic Darlington configuration TO-220 plastic package, intented for use in power linear and switching applications. They are very popular for their high current gain & high current. These transistors can be used as a switch within different electronic circuits to drive different loads below 5A.

Lot of audio amplifiers and pre-amplifiers have been built using these transistors. These transistors are used in output stage as well as driver stage. The pair can be used in the output stage to build excellent audio amplifiers. The pair can also be used in the driver section to drive high wattage audio amplifiers.
