IRFP460 N-Channel Power Mosfet From Doingter

IRFP460 is an N-Channel high voltage power mosfet are used in lot of electronic applications across the world. 

It is designed to have a high breakdown voltage of 500V and a low on-resistance of 0.27Ω at 10V gate voltage. Given the high breakdown voltage, this MOSFET can be used in switching converters with mains voltage input, high voltage amplifiers, and motor drivers.

IRFP460 has a gate threshold voltage between 2V and 4V, and it just barely starts conducting at this voltage. To achieve the specified-on resistance of 0.27Ω, the gate voltage must be at least 10V. The maximum limit of the gate voltage is ±20V, beyond which the gate can be damaged.

IRFP460 can also be used to build quasi-symmetrical audio amplifiers and there have been many tested designs available on the Internet.
